Maori in the Media
Last week we looked at how information and perspectives can differ when shared by old or new media. This week we will take a look at some groups which are often misrepresented in the media and take a look at how and why this happens.What does 'minority group' mean? In New Zealand, a large minority group which is often misrepresented in the media, is Maori. This week we take a look at Maori in the media and the kinds of words and phrases that are used to reinforce (support) negative views about Maori.
